The Playdia was a video game console released in 1994 by
Bandai (it was the only game console ever produced by Bandai). Unfortunately,
it was never released outside of Japan. Several
anime-themed games were released for the Playdia, among
other the ones belonging to Dragon Ball Z, Sailor
Moon, SD Gundam, Ultra Man series. Having a
powerful 32-bit processor and rare for the time infrared
game controller, the new console by its technical
specifications was quite able to compete with other consoles
of the time. |

But due to low quantity of game titles, inefficient
marketing and promotional technologies, the Playdia did not
sell well.
There are not so much games released for Playdia and now
they are very rare (as well as the console itself).
Moreover, no one has ever developed a Playdia emulator, so
even if you manage to find a Playdia CD with a game, you'll
be obliged to buy the console itself to play it. The last
time I checked eBay
(February 11, 2006), there are several Playdia consoles sold
from $65 to $100. New Playdia consoles are not produced
since long ago and there is no way to repair an existing one
if it is damaged seriously. All scanned game manuals below are
